Court Remands Man, 25, Over Alleged Rape Of A Minor

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded Damilare Oladoye, 25, for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Ile-Ife.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, remanded the accused in custody and ordered the counsel to the accused, Miss Bose Dada, to file a formal bail application on his behalf.

Aluko also directed that the case file of the matter be duplicated and forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

Prosecutor John Idoko had told the court that the accused raped the minor on April 8 at about 10:05 p.m. at Gbelekan Area, Ile-Ife, Osun.

Idoko said the accused, who lives in the same house with the victim, forcefully and unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the minor when nobody was around and at home.

He said the offence was contrary to Section 31 (1) of the Childs Right Law of Osun 2007.
However, the plea of the accused was not taken. (NAN)
