An applicant, Joseph Amos, on Friday appeared before an Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly raping a married woman.
Amos, 23, who resides in the Ikotun Area of Lagos, was arraigned on four counts of conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge, sexual assault and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Femi Adeleye, told the court that the accused conspired with another accused earlier charged with raping the same woman to commit the offence.
Adeleye said the offence was committed on June 16 in a house on Ariwa Street, Council Bus Stop, Ikotun, a suburb of Lagos.
He said the accused persons conspired to have unlawful carnal knowledge of their victim and stole N4, 000 from their victim.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 258, 285, 261 and 409 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr P.E. Nwaka, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
