The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested nine suspects allegedly connected to the defiling and killing of a minor in Nakasari area of Sokoto South Local Government Area of the state.
Alhaji Shaiubu Gambo, the Commissioner of Police, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Tuesday that investigations had begun to ensue a diligent prosecution of the suspects.
He said that the nine-year old girl was a house help to a Nurse and “the suspects took the advantage when her mistress left for work to attack the deceased”.
“We will do all that we can to get to the root of the case and to ensure that all those that have hands in the alleged murder are brought to justice, ” he said.
Gambo called on the residents to assist the police with relevant information that would help them in unravelling the mystery of the case.(NAN)
